This week in WODs
Like mentioned before, we are really getting into the swing of Open Prep. We are looking at a bump in stamina, cardiovascular endurance, as well as muscular endurance. We are looking at improvements in some skills while building on our lifts. We are learning and improving.
What we can take out of this week as a set up for following weeks:
Loads. Did we take on too much or did we take on too little. For example, Wednesday’s WOD with the S2OH – did we go with a weight that would challenge us and we got 5 or so reps? OR did we rep 10-15 out? Either is a great workout but if the stimulus wanted from the programming was a heavier S2OH then we can adjust for that next time.
Breathing. Did we control it or did it control us? For example, clusters to DU then to clusters – how did we respond to that? Was it tougher going from one to the other or vice versa? What could we have done differently in the transfer?
Pace. Did we shoot our like a rocket or did we slow and steady? Did we play it safe or did we take a risk? Either way, what did we learn?
Recovery/Rest. Did we time our resting time? Or did we force a longer rest because we pushed the pace?
Feel. How did we feel before/during/after the WOD? Did we have that burning in the chest? Or could we have pushed the pace a little.
Post Box. What was my recovery like after? Did I have the good nutrients in me? Did I drink enough water? Did I mobilize? Did I get enough sleep?
These are things to take on to the following weeks and beyond. Especially number 6.
Here’s to looking towards the Open and our fitness goals.
See you at the box!
