Here is some interesting tidbits about our athlete Michael!
What is your athletic background?
– High school: I was on the Tennis, Football, Baseball, Wrestling, and Swim team.
– College: 12 ounce curls, flip cup, beer pong.
– Now: Volleyball, Racquetball, Bowling, and Snowboarding
What do you do for a living? Boeing – Software Engineer
How long have you been CrossFitting? 4 Months with another gym. 4 Months with CrossFit NOCO.
Have you trained before? If so, what are the differences you like about CrossFit than your past
training? Gold’s gym rat. I use to do a lot of power lifting. My cardio sucks. CrossFit allows me to eat
more tacos before gaining weight.
Favorite movement: Horizontal Running.
Favorite WOD: Strict handstand/strict pull up EMOM.
Favorite CrossFit moment: 30 unbroken 75# thrusters in the Festivus Finals! I wanted to take a break
at 15 but no one else was dropping their weight. Then I was going to take a break at 20 but the Judge
told me I better not drop that weight and Zach was yelling keep going. All 5 of us ended up finishing
the thrusters unbroken. Thrusters suck.
What is one of your main goals for CrossFit? Beating Jay and Jenn in a wod.
What do you do outside of the box that is going to help your performance inside the box? I eat a lot
What do you enjoy on your leisure time? I can’t say that here.
What advice would you give a new CrossFitter? Go to more classes = Look better naked.
Any final thoughts on CrossFit? When life gives you crossfit……pray that today’s wod didn’t make Eric
