Meet Amy Sanzottera
What is you athletic background? I was a gymnast then bodybuilder and did powerlifting.
What do you do for a living? I’m a stay at home mom/Cosmetologist.
How long have you been CrossFitting? Officially about a month and a half but I have done scaled back Crossfit workouts at home off and on for about a year.
Have you trained before? If so, what are the differences you like about CrossFit than your past training? Yes, but it has been years since training on a regular basis. Crossfit is totally different than anything I’ve ever done. I like how it’s never the same, every workout is different and it’s a lot of fun. I love how the workouts combine weightlifting, cardio, stretching, body weight movements, and some gymnastics. For years I did the typical bodybuilding/powerlifting workouts with cardio after and they just got so boring.
Favorite movement: Deadlift, but really any of the Olympic or powerlifts.
Favorite WOD: Any of the heavy lifting wods; 1rm or sets of 3 or 5.
Favorite CrossFit moment: Starting Crossfit J
What is one of your main goals for CrossFit? Just to keep doing it on a regular basis. I would love to keep going with it and see where it takes me.
What do you do outside of the box that is going to help your performance inside the box? I try to eat decent most of the time, get plenty of sleep, stretching, and drink lots of water.
What do you enjoy on your leisure time? Hanging out with family and friends.
What advice would you give a new CrossFitter? To just keep going. It gets easier, in a way lol.
Any final thoughts on CrossFit? I absolutely love it. It’s the combination of the weights and cardio in the wods that gives you a great whole body workout every time.
