I’m a wife, a mother of three, a sign language Interpreter, and a CrossFit addict! Though I had played sports my entire life, I spent most of my late teens & early 20’s pretty overweight. At 22 I finally decided to do something about it. Low and behold eating right and exercising did the trick…..who knew lol! The more weight that I loss, the more activities I was able to do. I have tried many different things over the years from small group training, to Zumba, biking, and eventually I fell in love with running. I have completed 3 half marathons with the hope of finishing one every year.
About 2 years ago a friend of mine invited me to her box on a “bring a friend” day. I went and immediately loved it as it reminded me somewhat of the small group training I had previously done. I am a North County girl and at that time there weren’t any boxes close enough to accommodate my family’s schedule at that time. Fast forward to last fall when I saw that CrossFit North County was opening…..I was ecstatic! I went in as a limited member expecting 2 days a week to be enough for me. I was wrong! This was unlike anything I had experienced before. It was a challenge and at times a struggle and man was I sore, but I loved every minute of it! I quickly switched to an unlimited membership. I was hooked! So when Coach AJ and Coach Eric came and asked if I wanted to join their team I didn’t even have to think about it. With their support got my Level 1 Trainer Cert in early March and after interning for about a month and a half I started coaching in May.
I love coaching as much as I love being an athlete. I love it because anybody can do it and it makes life easier…..how do you not love something like that?! Helping other people become fitter and healthier has been something I’ve wanted to do for awhile now and I’m thankful to be doing it with the awesome people at CrossFit North County!
