CrossFit North County was founded by idle chit chat at a Level 1 Course. One guy sat by a couple and made conversation. They found out that both live in the same school district and one was a teacher in that district. Of course everyone acknowledged the ultimate goal – opening a CrossFit Box.
A few months later, AJ went through the district directory remembering that Eric mentioned he was the only male teacher in the building, found him and shot him an email. The rest is history!
Opened in September 2014 in a tiny corner spot on Lindbergh Blvd, AJ and Eric established CrossFit North County with four core values: positivity, respect, honesty, and community. Our mission is pretty simple: provide workouts, training methodology, and insights to ensure the best quality fitness for each person, regardless of their needs/goals/desires; that comes through our doors. With surrounding themselves with great coaches, the tiny corner spot was starting to burst at the seams and it was time to move.
CrossFit North County is now located in a bigger location, building that great community and still changing lives with a lot of fun.
CrossFit North County also believes and prides itself in giving back to the community and involves itself in many different charity events. We have participated in The Three Wise Men Foundation Veteran’s Day WOD, Lift Up Autism, and Barbells for Boobs. We have also given to our local school districts, Firefighters, and other benefits.
Although CrossFit North County believes that the programming gives all the athletes the potential to be a competitive CrossFitter, CrossFit North County doesn’t push athletes to compete. If the interest sparks an athlete, CrossFit North County will help that athlete in their endeavors. Athletes from here have competed in the CrossFit Open, Greater Gateway Games, Festivus Games, and other competitions in the area.
